Hey! You may have been hearing a lot lately about the devastating bushfires still burning in Australia. And if you haven’t, here’s our brief explainer with ways you can take action.
It’s easy to feel powerless when things like this happen, but I’d like to remind y’all of one of the most powerful things you can do to make a difference: vote.
Thousands of DoSomething members are already getting ready to make their voices heard and elect leaders who’ll take action on the issues they’re passionate about. Change is coming, and we will be heard.
Let’s Do This.
Are You Ready to Vote? DoSomething Members Are Preparing for Our 2020 Vision. DoSomething members powered historic youth voter turnout in the 2018 midterm elections. In 2020, young people are grabbing the mic and saying it loud: ‘We are the voters, and we are making our 2020 Vision a reality.’
“I don't only vote for myself but for the people I love, the people that can't, and the people that come next,” says DoSomething member Avyanie, 21.
The first step? Educating yourself and others on the voting process. A lot of folks find it confusing, which keeps them from showing up to the polls and making their voice heard. It’s time to start learning about the voting process and helping others feel more comfortable doing it.
“We can't sit around and wait for change to happen,” says DoSomething member Nina. “Our voice matters more than we think, so we need to use it to make the changes we want to see in the world.”
The country has seen the power of the youth vote in 2018. Now young people are ready to decide the 2020 election -- let’s get started. Join the 4,920 DoSomething members who have taken a quiz to teach their friends everything they need to know to vote in the upcoming elections.
