Hey y’all, good news! The WYD (What You’re Doing) community newsletter has its very own landing page. Send friends the landing page link, or forward them the email and tell them to click the banner to sign up for WYD. They’ll thank you -- I mean, who wouldn’t want a weekly dose of inspiration and impact? (Yeah, I’m probably biased, but still.)
Let’s Do This,
In the Wake of Tragedy, Pollyanna Rallied Her School With Positivity, Love, and Light After a classmate died by suicide last month, the 17-year-old DoSomething member united four school clubs to fight bullying and support their school community.
Together the Arkansas teenagers plastered their school with positive post-its and delivered handwritten notes. They recruited the Art Club to draw uplifting images on the campus pavement. They posted DoSomething’s affirmation sheets, where students could tear and share messages of support.
In less than two weeks, every tear sheet was empty.
“This campaign is important to me, because it brings the community and its students closer together,” Pollyanna wrote. “This campaign has reached [out] to our school and to those who are silently needing those extra words.”
For those in need, contact the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (1-800-273-8255) or Crisis Text Line (text HOME to 741-741).
Join Pollyanna and the DoSomething members who have already posted 7,961 tear sheets across the country.
This incredible DoSomething member made an activity book (featuring some very familiar faces) to brighten the day of a kid in the hospital. Learn how you can help kids to play to brighten their day!
