Hey y’all, cool news! We’ve received soo much positive feedback on WYD that we’ve decided to launch another weekly newsletter just for you. It’s called The Boost: One article. One action. Every Thursday.
Subscribe now to boost your mood, boost your knowledge, and boost yourself into action. Every week we’ll send you one article (like a how-to volunteering guide, or the story of an incredible young changemaker), plus one related way you can make an immediate impact. So whadaya say -- see you on Thursday?
Let’s Do This!
This Is How the DoSomething Community Is Helping Create the Safest Generation Ever on the Road Traffic deaths among young people are down almost 70% since the 70s. One big reason? DoSomething members like you.
Chances are, you or someone you know has been affected by dangerous or distracted driving. It’s always scary, sometimes worse. But the good news is, DoSomething members like you have been crucial in making our roads safer for everyone.
Through our Ride & Seek campaign, you teamed up with Jason Genao (who plays Ruby in On My Block) to post 21,000 flyers to protect friends. In the Friends on Lock campaign, with the help of On My Block’s Diego Tinoco, over 63,000 members signed up to give friends keys with clutch tips on avoiding distracted driving. Now you can get in on the action. Join our NSFW (Not Safe for Wheels) campaign, powered by Chevrolet (and check out this sing-along vid with Bunk’d star Kevin Quinn)! Answer three simple questions about your friend’s on-the-road habits. We’ll give you a customized guide, with tips to share that could help save their life.
DoSomething member Estrella created a STEM superhero, Monarch Mariposa, and shared it with her (positively adorable) neighbors to supercharge their love of STEM. Learn how you can (super)empower younger students near you!
Are you a high school senior who’s a leader on your sports team, in your classroom, and in your community? Could you use $20,000 for school? Then apply to be a Foot Locker Scholar Athlete We’re looking for 20 amazing scholar-athletes, and you could be one of them. To qualify for a $20,000 scholarship, apply by January 3, 2020!
