Phew! If you’re reading this, it means you received this week’s WYD. That’s great news. To make sure you keep receiving WYD, go ahead and add Ben from DoSomething.org <hi@dosomething.org> to your contact list. (Because sometimes the ol’ spam filter gets a liiittle confused and snatches up our newsletters. Boo.)
Oh! And while we’re here, feel free to reply to this email and let us know what you think of WYD. Who knows? Maybe I’ll respond and let you know what I think of you. (Though tbh, you already know I think you’re the best.)
Let’s Do This!
When They Found Out Their Former Classmate, Who Is Deployed Overseas, Wasn’t Getting Anything for Christmas, These Members Decided to Do Something About It “A former student from our school informed us that some of the members of his platoon wouldn't get anything for Christmas,” said 17-year-old DoSomething member Katlyn.
So she and her fellow classmates at their South Carolina high school wrote letters of appreciation and sent care packages to the platoon in Korea.
“There are many soldiers who are out there risking their lives for us,” says Alejandra, 17, a DoSomething member. “They leave behind their families for all of us. I just wanted to show them my appreciation for all the hard work they do.” Join these members and the DoSomething community, which has already sent 7,307 letters to service members, veterans, and their families.
