Hey y’all! This weekend was a long one, and I spent A LOT of it doing absolutely nothing...and TBH it was pretty great. Hope y’all got to spend the weekend doing whatever makes you happy (even if that’s just chilling on the couch watching Netflix).
I know there’s plenty to see outside of the comfort of my own apartment -- like the US National Parks that DoSomething member Esme painted for deployed service members. Read about it below, along with some other amazing member stories.
Let’s Do This
Deployed Service Members Are Far From Home, So Esme Painted Some Reminders For Them “When I picture America, the incredible sights of nature is what comes to my mind; the jagged cliffs of the Grand Canyon and the waterfalls of Yellowstone are unlike any others in the world, and they’re part of what makes America special,” says DoSomething member Esme, 17.
That’s why she decided to use her artistic abilities to paint US National Parks for deployed military service members. Her cards will add to the 24,463 already sent by DoSomething members nationwide.
“I wanted to help give servicemen and women the same sense of peace I feel when watching the sunset over the beaches of California, my home state,” Esme says. Write (or paint!) your own card or letter thanking military service members, veterans, and their families. Learn how to join our Huddle for Heroes, powered by NFL Huddle for 100.
DoSomething member Danielle shared our Give Más, Get Más cards with her swimming pals, giving them a keyword to access our clutch networking guide and encouraging them to apply for the Live Más Scholarship! Join Danielle and help your friends take their passions to the next level. The deadline is January 23 by 8pm EST!
