Hey y’all! If you read WYD in January or subscribe to our other newsletters, The Boost and The Breakdown, you know our intern-turned-part-time-writer Jackie is an all-star (not to mention a Pokemon trivia champion). Well, good news: She’ll now be writing for DoSomething full-time, and we are *pumped*. Dreams come true! (Yes, her dreams, but mainly mine.)
The very first thing she did to celebrate? Created a survey, which asks the question, “Which DoSomething pet is your favorite?” Congratulate Jackie by telling us which DoSomething pup or cat you love most!
Let’s Do This,
Jenna and Abby Show Us That Friends Who DoSomething Together, Stay Together DoSomething members Jenna, 17, and Abby, 17, gave us some true #FriendshipGoals with the schoolwide Teens for Jeans denim drive they ran to benefit young people in local homeless shelters.
“A jean drive was such an easy way to make a difference in others' lives,” says Jenna. “We have a clothes closet here at school, so we were able to refill our jean collection here at school through this drive as well.”
The pair showed up to their local Aéropostale store with a literal CARTLOAD of jeans to donate (125 pairs in total!). As members of their school’s Key Club, Jenna and Abby share a passion for volunteering -- and they’re not stopping here.
“This jean drive is one of the many campaigns we have done, along with food drives, other clothing drives, and toiletry drives,” says Abby. “Knowing that I can give something of my own to people who are less fortunate makes me overjoyed.” Add to the 45,000+ jeans that DoSomething members like Abby and Jenna have donated so far. Sign up for Teens for Jeans, the largest youth-led denim drive ever.
