Hey y’all, and greetings from week four of quarantine, where I continue to get destroyed by my little sister in Bananagrams. (If anyone has pro tips for not getting embarrassed on a nightly basis, please respond to this email.)
ANYWAY...I’ve said it every week, and I’ll keep on saying it. These are hard and scary times. And we’re here for you. Check out our COVID-19 financial guide and learn what to do about student loans, unemployment, and saving extra cash. Connect by text to a Crisis Counselor if you need someone to talk to. And keep reading for ways to support your friends’ mental health. We’ll get through this together.
Let’s Do This,
Are Your Friends Stressed? Here’s How to Have Their Back The DoSomething community is crowdsourcing a first-of-its-kind mental health guide that’s for students, by students.
You and your friends might be feeling nervous, frustrated, or disconnected recently. But you don’t have to feel hopeless or alone.
*You* have the power to seriously improve the mental health of those around you, and together can we create a massive nationwide impact, even while physical distancing.
Join thousands of DoSomething members by sending us tips on how you get through these particularly stressful times. We’ll use your advice to create New State of Mind, a first-of-its-kind mental health guide that’s for students, by students.
DoSomething members Katerina, 22 (the flowers!), Jadian, 18 (the smile!), and Bryce, 18 (the jeans!) joined the thousands of members finding creative ways to get through physical distancing. Let us know how you’re making it through, and share tips to help other members do the same.
Today in (Quarantined!) Pets of DoSomething… member Rebecca, 17, is physical distancing by staying very close to her cat, and member Kariel’s (17) dog is perched on top of...ANOTHER DOG.
Jackie said it best when she wrote… I LOVE THIS PIC OF DOSOMETHING MEMBER KELSEY’S GRANDPA
NBD but… DoSomething ranked #2 nationwide among the Best Nonprofits to Work For (and #1 in my heart)!
The DoSomething Club of the Week is from… World Journalism Preparatory School (Flushing, New York), which made this stellar mural for Women’s History Month.
In our brand new video… Marcus Scribner of Black-ish plays Would You Rather? with...himself!
We’re making dreams come true… by featuring our contractor Madho’s voter registration bike in WYD. (Now you can retire, Madho!!!)
Are You Still Making a Difference While Physical Distancing?
Let us know! Maybe you’re spreading gratitude for essential workers or checking in on friends’ mental health. Maybe you made an amazing DIY mask or a quarantine TikTok that everyone MUST see. Submit yours here, and you could be featured in the next WYD!
