Hey y’all.
Wednesday, August 12 is International Youth Day, and there’s no better day for us to celebrate you(th). We’re living in difficult, isolating, frightening times, and your generation has responded in the only way you know how: with courage, compassion, and action. Where leaders fail and wallow in confusion, young people are leading a global fight towards racial justice, climate reform, and a thriving, equitable, hopeful future beyond COVID-19. We celebrate you today, and we’re inspired by you every day. Thank you.
Let’s Do This,
How the DoSomething Community Is Powering Massive Youth Voter Registration Nationwide Over 200,000 young people have registered through DoSomething since 2018.
DoSomething members helped drive an “extraordinary” and “historic” increase in youth voter registration for the midterms. Now, even during COVID-19, members like you are running voter registration drives...fully online...using personalized voter registration pages through DoSomething.
“I think that in such a stressful time (the pandemic, racial and gender injustice, and a new presidential term coming) it is more important than EVER that our youth start getting more involved with voting,” says DoSomething member Vivian, 20, who shared her page with friends.
“We deserve a country that works for all of us,” says Emma, a 20-year-old DoSomething member who also ran an online drive. “And voting can get us there.” Learn how to create your personalized voter registration page with issues that matter most to you. Through your page, your friends can register to vote in 2 minutes through an easy, secure online form.
Systemic racism is a major reason COVID-19 has hit Black, Indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC) hardest, both in terms of health and finances, making it especially difficult to afford crucial products for health and hygiene this back-to-school season.
That’s why DoSomething members like Edina, 24, are collecting personal care and cleaning products to help students stay healthy and perform their best in school this fall. Learn how to create a Healthier Us.
