DoSomething Members Are Slowing the Spread of COVID-19 and Spreading the Word About No-Sew Masks
They’re looking out for their families, their friends, and their futures. As the world reaches another deadly milestone in the coronavirus pandemic, thousands of DoSomething members are making their own crucial tools for fighting the virus: face masks.
The CDC has called on Americans to correctly and consistently wear face masks to stop the spread of COVID-19, and with the help of our step-by-step guide, DoSomething members have already made 18,233 DIY masks to help keep their communities safe.
“I had a lot of fun making them and during these difficult times, it brought a spark of joy and a little something to alleviate the boredom of staying quarantined!” says DoSomething member Lena, 14.
“Personally, I find this important because my grandfather has not left the house for 5 months because of this pandemic,” says DoSomething member Katie, 17. “I hope that everyone finds the courage and motivation to find a mask or make a mask, so the spread of COVID-19 stops.”
No sewing skills? No problem. Use our guide to make your own no-sew mask to protect yourself and your loved ones.
Healthy students are better learners. That’s why DoSomething members like Sisi, 21 (left) and Paige, 18 (right) contributed the 13,206 bags of health and hygiene products to help students stay healthy and perform their best in school. You can join them -- collect your items by Thursday, October 1!
