Hey y’all. BIG news: The DoSomething community has officially registered over 250,000 voters(!!!), the most in our org’s history and more than *double* our total in 2018. Umm YEAH.
We did this. YOU did this. Yep, despite a global pandemic, a summer of chaos, and voter suppression, members like you showed that you would not be denied and would not be stopped. And don’t look now: thanks to these massive registration figures, “young people are turning out like woah” and are primed to literally help decide this election.
We at DoSomething are proud. We’re inspired. And we’re fired up...that *you’re* so fired up. Because this election is about you, your vote, and your power to create a better future.
You are a Voter. We are The Voters. Now, it’s time to vote.
Let’s Do This! Ben, Editor-in-chief
What’s the Only Thing Better Than Voting On Election Day?
Voting *before* Election Day. More than 3 million young people have already voted, and more young voters are expected to vote early (in person) or by mail than ever before.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, DoSomething members have made over 24,000 masks to help slow the spread of the coronavirus -- including DoSomething member Emily, 17, who made and distributed 13 masks of her own through our No-Sew Mask campaign.
“As I see COVID cases rise in my area, it feels good to do something that can make a difference,” Emily says. “I can serve as an example to my peers by always wearing my mask.”
